Fans of morroccan and middle eastern flavours will not be disappointed if they head to this stylish and opulent eatery at the apex of manuka terrace. For the past three years Mecca Bah has been creating a menu reliant on adventurous use of exotic herbs and spices to create distinctive flavour combinations. Under the watchful eye of head chef James Rivard, the subtle flavours and fragrant spice combinations are drawn together with quality Australian produce to create a modern interpretation of Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine. The innovative menu encourages guests to taste a range flavours in an informal, communal dining experience. Meze are served in hand made serving dishes from Tunisia and include Turkish kofte with yoghurt and mint sauce and kataifi pastries filled with Middle Eastern cheeses. Award-winning Turkish pizzas, such as roast pumpkin, chilli, pomegranate jam and feta, and classic tagines, including lamb with preserved lemon, green olive and harissa, are always popular menu choices. A stunning water feature beckons invitingly out the front of Mecca Bah’s alfresco dining area. Warm colours, soft cushions, and Middle Eastern trimmings, such as rows of colourful tagine pots and intricate mosaic wallpaper, decorate the restaurant with deep banquette lounges, allowing guests to soak up the ambience. An intimate private dining room offers some privacy for larger groups, with exquisite lead-light lanterns adding to the illusion of a traditional Moroccan eating house.
