Edgar’s Inn

Edgar’s Inn delivers a neighbourhood pub experience matched with quality food in the leafy inner north suburb of Ainslie. More and more these days, Canberrans are sticking to their own local shops when looking for a bite to eat, and little wonder as places like Edgar’s provide friendly and inviting dining options to enjoy. This bright and sunny little corner pub is located well within reach of most of the city’s northside hotels and offers a great selection of eclectic dishes that borrow from traditional pub fare as well as Asia and Europe for their inspiration. One may find a good selection of burgers or lightly battered fish and chips as expected. Bangers and mash are generous and served with sweet potato mash and a balsamic onion and tomato chutney. Garlic lamb skewers are tender and flavoursome and sit atop Greek-style salad and hummus. Tapas are always available and ever changing, and may include spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce, a mezze plate to share or homestyle meatballs with Napoli sauce. With an unpretentious atmosphere full of locals, good cold beer, great wines and an outdoor area that buzzes in the summer months, Edgar’s Inn is well worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just a quiet drink with friends.
